Zimmer Reports Fourth Quarter and 2009 Financial Results

zimmer_logo(WARSAW, IN) January 28, 2010—Zimmer Holdings, Inc. (NYSE and SIX: ZMH) today reported financial results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 2009. The Company reported fourth quarter net sales of $1.11 billion, an increase of 7.5% reported and 2.5% constant currency over the fourth quarter of 2008. Diluted earnings per share for the quarter were $0.74 reported and $1.12 adjusted, an increase of 12.0% adjusted over the prior year period. Full-year net sales were $4.10 billion, a decrease of 0.6% reported and an increase of 0.9% constant currency. Zimmer Holdings, Inc. Agrees to Sell $1 Billion of Senior Notes

Over the past year, Zimmer has collaborated with teaching surgeons and subject matter experts to develop a unique model for surgeon and clinician training. Combining its Medical Education, BioSkills Training and Surgeon-to-Surgeon programs under one, consolidated service offering, the enhanced Zimmer Institute provides a highly interactive environment for surgeon and clinician education that the Company believes sets new standards for the industry.

A continuum of courses is available through the Zimmer Institute, spanning online learning modules, interactive small group discussions, intensive case study reviews, hands-on cadaver-based training and surgeon-to-surgeon training programs. Course modules have been tailored to match an individual surgeon’s experience level, providing in-depth knowledge on products and procedures. Zimmer Institute courses have a high faculty-to-student ratio and incorporate new technologies, promoting greater interaction with faculty trainers and participant collaboration.
